Sometimes I wonder why I even bother writing blogs.
For one, not a lot of people read it. See, if a lot of people were reading it, then there would still be justification to having a blog. But if not, then I’d be wasting my time putting my thought into logical sentences and paragraphs or changing the colors and themes of the blog.
Two, you don’t know who will stumble upon your new post. In some unfortunate instances, you will be giving your stalker (everyone has experience with this at least once in a lifetime, no?) full access to your thoughts, ideas, and daily life encounters. And everybody knows that can’t be a good thing. I had the bad experience of posting a blog complaining about a particular day (which involved the mention of couple of people, say A and B) and A’s friend read it. Then I had a even worst time working the issue out than the crappy day I already had.
See, there is probably no advantage to keeping a blog… But why do I still do it? I do it so I have an outlet for my emotions. I do it for my enjoyment and your reading pleasures. Plus it’s always cool to see your writings “published” on the internet!
Anyway, I’m so tired from playing tennis, biking, cooking, doing laundry, showering… just thought I’d rant for a bit before I go to sleep. G’night =)

ps- I’ve decided to keep this blog strictly English and my MSN space (http://puddinghead9.spaces.live.com) strictly Mandarin
There was a great article in last Sunday’s New York Times Magazine (sorry not to give the URL, but I actually read the print version) by a woman who used to write for Gawker.com and her experiences telling the world her every intimate detail. Maybe you can find it online, it is worth reading when you have these questions.
yeah, stalkers like me XD
actually, back in my highschool xanga days, i got to know three friends through blogs:
1. i was randomly hopping friend’s xanga and started talking to this girl. she later became my good friend’s girlfriend
2. got to know a good friend a loooot better from exchanging blog posts
3. was able to pick up a suicidal girl in a neighboring school and help to give her a little more reason to live
(the last one is up for debate, but it’s an interesting story nonetheless)
i used to use my msn blog as my chinese blog and xanga as my english one… but i might switch to WRETCH just for both chinese and english… if i restart blogging at all…
